Hello, apologies if this question has already been answered, but I searched the group history and did not see anything relevant.

Will an IRA account + balance suffice for financial evidence of sufficient funds or does this need to be stored in account that is considered more liquid?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among commenters is that an IRA account does not meet the financial requirements for the DTV visa in Thailand. Applicants must show proof of funds in a personal bank account, with a minimum balance of 500,000 Thai baht. Additionally, it's suggested that the funds need to be in an accessible and liquid bank account, and there are questions regarding the timing of withdrawing funds from an IRA to a personal account for visa application.

Does anyone know if I withdraw the funds from my IRA into a more liquid bank/checking account, do they have to be there for any specific amount of time?

If I deposit them and apply for DTV the day after, is that a problem?

Or would they need bank statements to believe these funds were more legitimate with long term standing?

No it will not meet the requirements for the DTV visa. It MUST be a bank account in your name. 500,000 Thai baht or more. Look at the Thai Embassy or Consulate website where you are going to apply for their requirements.

Should be in an instant cash accessible personal bank account.
