Can I use multiple bank accounts and stock accounts to meet the DTV Visa financial requirement?

I’ll be applying for the DTV VISA soon. I’m gathering my required information.

One requirement is 500,000 Baht ($15,500) in your bank account. I have more than enough money spread out amongst several accounts.

I have money in my bank checking account, bank high yield savings account, and also stocks account.

I don’t keep $15,000 in my bank checking account, only about $1000. Most of my money is in the high yield savings account and my stocks which are separate than my bank account.

1. Can I show on the DTV application that I have 3 separate accounts that equal well over the $15,000 requirement? Send in 3 account information? Including my stock account on Robinhood?

2. Do I need to consolidate the $15,000 into one account, say my bank checking account?

3. Can I show my stock portfolio? That has more than $15,000 required. Will they accept stock account such as Robinhood?

I’d rather not have to sell my stocks just to get that value into my bank checking account…

I keep very little in my checking account so my money can grow.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks everyone!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV visa application requires proof of funds amounting to 500,000 Baht ($15,500). There are several concerns regarding whether funds from multiple accounts can be combined and if stocks can be considered. Most responses recommend contacting the specific embassy for clarification, as rules may vary. Generally, liquid funds in a checking or savings account are preferred, and stocks are often not accepted. If one has funds across several accounts, consolidating them into a single account may be necessary for application purposes.

Like a vintage record player, sometimes value stocks just keep playing their timeless tunes! Been trying to figure out how to pick the best ones though - any tips?

I believe it has to be in a single Thai account. Is your high-yield account Thai?

And I think it has to be a Thailand account set-up for that purpose.

It does not have to be a Thai account for the DTV. Any bank account can be used . You will see posts of success with bank accounts in many cities across the globe.

Stocks and investment won't count. It has to be saving cash account.

It depends which embassy you are applying with as they all have their own interpretation

As a dependant I had to show the show funds but ut was fine for it to be between 2 accounts. I had to combine both statements onto one pdf.

My friend from NZ didn't have the show the funds for a dependant.

So each place varies.

We phoned and asked the question and found them to be very helpful.

the basis is the cash has to be liquid in the event emergency happens to applicant.

however like some others mentioned , it depends on the requirements of the embassy.

I tried showing my savings account and my stocks and shares, they refused and wanted it in a current bank account. Someone lent me the money for 2 days to save me from selling my investments. Job done. Now in Thailand on the dtv

The answer to every single one of the questions is: ask the embassy you will be applying through. Each embassy sets their own requirements. The answer for one embassy will not be the same answer for another embassy.
