Just wanting a bit of advice about 90 day visas. Can you get them at the airport on arrival, or need to apply via embassy in advance. I'm Australian and have previously visited on the standard 30 day tourist visas issued on arrival.
Also do 90 day visas begin on the date of issue or from date of arrival?
Thanks folks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Australians cannot obtain a 90-day visa upon arrival in Thailand; they must apply for it at a Thai embassy or consulate beforehand. The only visas that provide a 90-day stay are Non-Immigrant Type visas, which are based on specific criteria, such as marriage to a Thai citizen or retirement. Additionally, the 90-day visa validity starts from the date of issue, but the stay duration begins on the date of entry into Thailand.

The only visas that get you stamped in for 90 days are Non-Immigrant Type ones. You get them based on being married to a thai, being over 50, raising children here, volunteering, working, studying, etc.
Australians can't by ANY visas to thailand when they arrive here and there is no such thing as s standard 30 day tourist visa :/
When you came in last time you entered on what's called a 30 day visa exempt entry. <- it has that name because you didn't' BUY a visa from a thai consulate before you got here but were stamped in for 30 days without one.:)
You can get a single entry tourist visa from a thai consulate before you come here and that will get you stamped in for 60 days.
a single entry tourist visa is VALID for 90 days <-meaning you have 90 days from the date you get it at the consulate to enter thailand and get stamped in for 60 days.
