Hi everyone - Sorry if this has been answered, I tried to find it but couldn't.

I'm Australian looking to go to Thailand and stay for approximately 3months if possible.

Wondering what's the easiest path? I believe there are two options. 60 day TV + 30 day extension or 45 day entry + 2x 30 day extensions? Am I missing anything? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian looking to stay in Thailand for approximately 3 months has a couple of visa options. The most straightforward is to obtain a 60-day tourist visa in Australia before departure, followed by a 30-day extension at immigration in Thailand. Alternatively, the traveler could enter Thailand under the visa exemption policy, which grants 45 days and allows for a 30-day extension, but would require a visa run to a neighboring country for an additional stay. It's emphasized that one extension is allowed per entry, and for the visa exemption, proof of onward travel and financial means may be required.

For 3 months you wont need to leave the country if you get the TR 60 + 30 before you leave OZ. This fits snug with your plans, early on in your 60 days visit an immigration to get your additional 30 then forget about visas etc for the rest of your trip-

Just get visa exempt Jump the border visit a different country for a couple of days and come back for another 45

thanks mate. When you say visa exempt that’s just like not getting a visa at all and showing up right? We’re automatically granted 45?

I would stay for at least three days back in 2019 before I had a marriage visa a high ranking immigration officer kept me for an hour grilling me I had to tell her I have a Thai gf in order for me to even be allow back in she took me to a holding area with a bunch of families from Africa were being kept so take a mini holiday to Vietnam or KL

everyone pretty correct, you also meant to have

in baht , about 500 pounds , onward travel or return ticket, . I have never been asked , I think it’s a reason they would use to stop someone who looks very poor , it’s absolutely easy at moment , takes you longer to que than get stamped in , oh and covid19 vaccinations certificate , but your airline won’t let you on without it , so Thai immigration don’t bother but best to have all 3 , I’ve travelled in twice in last few months on visa excempt no problems

Yea pretty much mate, you'll enter they'll stamp your passport as visa exempt for 45 days It's a rarity but you could be asked for onward travel proof. A bus ticket out of the country will do. Then you can either extend for 30 more days or just jump across the border, plane tickets are really cheap and quick here so could be a good little side trip to see Angkor watt or something

If you extend its 1900 baht and a few hours at immigration

What about 45 days + 30 days extension, then visa run and 45 days more? Does that works this way?

Get the 60 day before leaving then 1 extension

You can’t get 2 x 30 day extensions. Only one per entry. Visa exempt or tourist visa.
