My friend is Lithuanian and holds a lithuanian passport. He gets 2 weeks at entry with an option to extend for 7 days. Can't do border runs as Lithuanian passport holders are not allowed to do a land border entry. Is it possible for him to get a longer visa from laos ? I.e 2 month with option to extend for a month. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Lithuanian passport holder typically receives a 2-week entry stamp to Thailand with a potential 7-day extension that requires leaving the country. Although there are some suggestions regarding border runs, Lithuanian citizens can apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa in Laos, allowing for a 60-day stay upon entry into Thailand, which can be extended further.

He does not have the "option to extend", what he gets is the 7 days leave the country stamp.

Lithuania people CAN do land border entries, it's just they BUY a 15 day visa on arrival for 2000baht when they enter thailand.

I agree with Robert, have them go to the thai consulate in Vientiane Lao and get a single entry tourist visa. That will stamp them in for 60 days when they enter the country

Lithuania is not on the list of prohibited countries to apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa in Laos.
