Hi all. Would very much appreciate any insight on the below!

My friend has a lithuanian passport. To her surprise when she arrived in bangkok she was only allowed a 15 day visa. She hopes to stay in Thailand for 60 days total, which I have a feeling isn't possible without leaving.

Is it possible to extend her 15 day visa at Koh Samui immigration office? And if it is possible how long will she be able to extend it for?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Lithuanian passport holder arriving in Thailand received a 15-day visa on arrival and wishes to stay for a total of 60 days. It's possible to extend her visa at the Koh Samui immigration office, where she may be granted a 7-day extension for a fee of 1900 baht, but she will receive a notice indicating that future extensions are not approved. Alternatively, she could leave Thailand to obtain a new visa or apply for a Tourist Visa at a Thai consulate.

She can get a 7day "extension deny" at Samui Immigration. 1900 baht.

Then she can do a visa run to Penang and apply a Tourist Visa (around 8000 baht total included 2 days trip)

Thanks Marco. So better to do the visa run within the 15 days than pay for 7 days and then visa run after.

She has a Visa On Arrival and if she applies for an Extension of Stay, she will get the stamp: Extension of Stay is NOT approved and 7 days to leave the country. She can leave Thailand and come back and get a new 15 day Visa on Arrival or she needs to buy a Tourist Visa at a Thai Consulate or Embassy.
