TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is currently on a 15-day Visa on Arrival in Thailand which cannot be extended beyond possibly 7 days. They are considering exiting to Laos and re-entering Thailand to obtain another 15-day Visa on Arrival. Responses from the community suggest that it is possible for Cypriot passport holders to get a Visa on Arrival upon re-entry from Laos, but they must meet certain requirements such as proof of sufficient funds (20,000 baht), proof of accommodation, and a flight out within 15 days. However, it is noted that some borders may not allow re-entry with a Visa on Arrival.

I believe that the OP has the answers needed for her question.

We wish her success in obtaining a New visa on arrival VOA at the LAOS land border crossing entry into Thailand.

sorry I had posted bad info, it appears you CAN get a visa on arrival to lao by showing up at the border and Cypriot passport holders are NOT from a country that has to buy a visa before they go

My apologies,

Now I'm getting conflicting answers about if you can or can't get a visa on arrival to lao holding a Cyprus passport. Sorry..

I just checked with a service provider up north that bounces people out and back with Lao

They said you CAN exit/re-enter the border up there and get a new 15 day VOA for 2000baht but you would could be asked to meet the requirements (20K baht or the equivalent in CASH, proof of lodging for the 15 days, proof you're flying out in 15 days)

Good news is that you CAN do it, bad news is it's only another 15 day VOA for 2000baht

Unfortunately that you want to stay here another month doesn't really factor into what you can do

The country your passport is from ONLY can buy a 15 day visa on arrival for 2000baht when you enter the country (and you have to show proof of 20K baht or the equivalent, proof of lodging the whole time and proof you're leaving in 15 days)

I don't think you can bounce by land and get a new 15 day visa on arrival. Some borders won't let countries who buy VOA bounce out and back

You MIGHT have to go to a thai consulate in another country (Vientiane/Savannakhet, etc) and BUY a real tourist visa to get in by land

OR

Fly out and back

So people who not are entitled to 30 days visa exemption, can do a 60 days normal tourist visa at the embassy/consulate home or outside Thailand?

@Jan *****************
correct, as a rule people can apply for tourist visas at thai consulates and get 60 days SOME countries have longer processing times but it doesn't appear that cyrprus does (at least it's not on the Vientiane thai consulate as having extended time)

It depends on the passport held, they would log on to their local Thai Embassy/Consulate to see what is available to them
