TLDR : Answer Summary
A British passport holder and a Dutch passport holder in Thailand can extend their 30-day visa exemption by visiting a local Thai immigration office. They can apply for a 30-day extension for a fee of 1900 baht. Although they initially considered visiting their embassies for a visa, it's clarified that the embassies do not handle visa extensions; all visa matters must be settled through Thai immigration. If the extension is completed, they can enjoy their trip, visiting places like Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, without needing to do a visa run.
All done we were prep'd up and arrived at 0815hrs this morning , visa number 2 and 3 issued on the day ....for those with helpfull comments thank you .. on the bus now to Chiang Mai......π€π

The 30 day visa is quite straight forward. Donβt wait until last minute or expect to extend your visit while you are in Thailand. Day 28or 29 you should go to the neighbor country to get stamped for leaving country and cross the border back to Thailand to get another 30 day visa.
why not extend? That makes no sense. Why go through the time and expense of leaving the country when you can just go to your local immigration office (every province in Thailand has one) and get an extension?
As a British passport holder who has lived in Portugal and has residency there and a Dutch passport holder you both can visit IT Square for 1900 bhatπ
I am scared what will happen, if an American faces the same question. βI as an American!!!β¦β

You can apply for an extension at local immigration office. Apply a few days before your 30 day expires just incase there is any problem. You can also go out of Thailand and come back in again to get another 30 days.

Yes - go to the Thai embassy in Bangkok for a visa
Visa exempt entry. Just extend for another 30 days on the last date of current exempt period

Go to immigration office in Kho Phinang 1900bht per person and get another 30days simple as that. I did it in September no problem π

As they've already made it through immigration, that is not relevant. Also its the flight company that sometimes wanna see exit flight. They've obviously madevitvthrough that as well. So now can just get 30 day xtn. Now they will hv the return flight so should be no problem
never been asked for return flight . Been coming in out three years

Thai immigration demand that all travellers have a return ticket. If you are arriving for 30 days they expect you will leave prior to expiration of 30 days. So should you obtain a 30 day extension your original travel or flight tickets will also need to be extended.
you can book an appointment but it's not required and the system hasn't been working well lately. The link is in the image posted above

Do a same day visa run to Malasia, from any of those destinations (including the islands) in the south , you'll see travel agents. For $50 return you'll be picked up first thing, taken to the border and back for late evening. Everyone in the minibus will be doing the same thing. A one day, cheap commitment. Not bad
Go to the immigration office in samui and get an extension. Itβs 1900B (I think) each

It's been a long time since I did it, but I think you could go to Lipe (a beautiful island) and then take a boat to Lamgkawi for a couple of nights and come back into Thailand to get another 30 days. This wouldn't involve any flights and would add to more beautiful islands to visit.
Nope.. if you want TR vusa leave the country... You can extend your stay with 30 days for 1900baht... Anyway research isn't a sin or rocket science before you visit a country π

We hope he is reading those valuable comments, then the thanks.
Let me clear this up for you, and sorry for some of the comments.
Your embassy has nothing to do with Thai visas. You need to go to a Thai Immigration office inside Thailand (there's one in every province) and apply for a 30 day extension. You can do this one time per entry.
The cost is 1900 baht, you need your passport, a picture, a TM30, and copies of your passport.

Plan your trip before you come simple ππ€¦ββοΈ
π a small hiccup that I overcome. I didnβt go over that shit border crossing. I doubled back done the extension, no problem. Thanks for pointing out anyway.

You donβt have a 30 day visa at all, you have a 30 visa exempt stamp, which you both can extend once only for another 30 days at your local immigration office for 1,900 baht each.
I dont understand what is funny or what i have asked that is not clear....?
British passport holder and dutch passport holder want a visa extension.....can that be done at dutch amd british embassy?
If i need to give more info or asking for something unusual or incorrect them please tell me ?

Visas are issued by the country you're in, not your own country's offices. The laughter is because it's pretty much common sense. If you travel all the time, then you should know something so simple. Also, the accompanying photo makes it seem as if you're not very serious about anything. At all. So yes, you're a bit amusing.
no you cannot extend any visa at your embassy, you arrived on a 30 day visa exempt stamp not a visa at all,but you can extend your stay for another 30 days at your local immigration office for 1,900 baht each, good luck
no .. what does a Thai visa extension have to do with a British or Dutch embassy ? .. you will get a 30 day visa waiver on arrival .. you can then extend that once by 30 days at β Thai β immigration 1,900 bht .. giving you your 60 days .. after which youβll need to leave the country , and return , and if you flight out and fly back in you can get the 30 day visa waiver again .. or you should ..

Iβm guessing this post is why the admins of the original Thailand Visa Advice group are so strict about it. So much misinformation and rubbish comments here.
For most cases, you can extend 30 days at the immigration office so Iβm guessing that will apply to you too. If you want more detailed advice, then you will have to give more detailed info.
Just go to Chang rai cross the border to Laos then back across takes a who 5 mins that way your seeing north Thailand too and the white temples are a must βπΌ

You need more than limited funds in samui lol

Go to immigration office and ask for a 30 days visa extension.
You screwed the pooch royally on this, but Iβm guessing that a little research never crossed either of your minds. You can extend your current 30 day visa exemptions by another 30 days for 1900 baht but then need to exit and return. Enjoy
all extensions issued in country are only 30 days. If you enter on a 60 day tourist visa, it can be extended once for 30 days. For a total of 90. You can then border bounce and Reenter immediately for 30 days visa exempt which can also be extended once for 30 days. So 150 days but you have to leave once

I'm confused, why is there a huge photo of these people. I thought something happened to them π
no ego ....just from other pages i am on its nice to give a photo ....so petrol head groups you show your car as an intro ....just what i know ......if different here then ok thats fine ...at least i know
because a question doesn't need a photo. Just ask your question. This group is for asking and answering questions, not socializing. There's lots of other groups for that.
we are friends for 5 years .....we travel together .....it does not matter couple or not we are best friends share many many nice experiences together ....weather we sleep together is irrelevant ...surly?
you can get to Laos π±π¦ and get 90 day's. In total its a 3 day trip. Many hotels in Bangkok can book this trip for you. Even have someone collect you for the hotel and take you to the bus station. I've done this afew times and the journey isn't to bad, you'll have one night in Vientiane which is pretty cool π.
If you extend ur trip when ur back in Thailand passed 60 day's and you have 90 visa you must go to immigration for the last 30days or you will be fined around Β£10 a day each for over stay. Hope this helped you out and have a safe trip.
If you already arrived you can apply one time for a 30 day tourist extension at your local immigration office. After that you would need to leave Thailand.
belgium and british embassy i was thinking ????? What is it with cockwombles on here just asking for advice and. Giving concise info ....or so i thought?
