Dear group: after what age does the child/baby need a visa?

Does anybody have a link to some Info? I googled and didn't find any precise info except that the child doesn't have to do 90 days reporting till 15 years of age.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A child must have either a visa or must be from a passport country that allows visa exemption to enter Thailand, regardless of age. For children under 15 years, there are no fines for overstaying, and they are not required to file 90-day reports until they turn 15. However, once a child reaches an age where they are no longer exempt, they will need to comply with visa regulations, including a visa for re-entry if they leave Thailand. If a child is born in Thailand, they do not need a visa until they leave the country.

Basically, any foreigner has to be on the right visa or extension even a newborn baby.

The exception is the foreign baby that was born in Thailand. This baby is an exception from having a visa/extension until it leaves Thailand (getting its passport before leaving of course) regardless of age. The baby needs a visa (including visa-exempt) when enters Thailand again. At a certain age, the child needs a visa even if never left Thailand since born. You need to check with detail with your local immigration office.

My 8-year-old, who has always had a proper Extension, was picked up on not doing 90 day reports at our last Extension, although there was no fine.

Every person regardless of age needs either a visa to enter Thailand or their passport country allows visa exempt/visa waiver entry.

Without knowing your baby’s passport country it’s not possible to say whether they could enter with no visa.

Once in Thailand then they can stay until they are 14 with no repercussions on overstay.

Many schools would require them to exit Thailand and clear their overstay status in order to switch them to an educational visa.

Children do have to do 90 day reports the same as adults.

The baby will need a passport from their home country and either Thai Visa or enter Visa Exempt with a parent upon arrival into Thailand.

As for obtaining extensions of stay while in Thailand, that's up to you to decide.

A child under 15 years of age are not fined for OVERSTAY.

You have to consider if the child will be living with you in Thailand longer than a tourist visa.

What is your passport nation and kind of Thai Visa you have to enter Thailand with and stay in Thailand ?

and what visa, if any, did the child use to enter Thailand? When did they enter Thailand?

You say you have a THAI VISA based on Business. Are you employed and provided Thai work permit by your employer? OR

Do you have a one year extension of stay as retired

so both you and your husband are German and both sponsored by the business employer for the Non B Visa business and one year extension of stay? Husband has Non B Visa and Thai work permit with you as dependent on his Visa sponsored by his employer?
