Hello, I entered Thailand by air and obtained a 30-day visa (French passport). Am I eligible for one or two extensions? If I am only eligible for one extension, can I do a visa run without any issues? Thank you for your kind responses.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can extend your 30-day visa once at the local immigration office. After that, you must leave Thailand. A visa run to a neighboring country should not pose any issues unless there are specific restrictions based on your travel history.

Visa-exempt entry for 30 days for you is eligible for a 30-day tourism extension ONCE at the local immigration office. Then you need to leave.

Unless you have an extensive history of travelling to/in Thailand, border-bounce or visa-run to a neighbouring country by any means wouldn't be an issue.

and if we do have an extensive history (several passport pages) of extensions + visa runs, what do you think? I got 30 days on arrival and extended for another 30. Left today (10 days before my stamp ends) and am in Malaysia for 6 days before flying back and hoping to get another 30 (have a flight out end of March). Iโ€™m unsure if I should take the extra step to apply for a visa while here in Malaysia ๐Ÿค”

, Unfortunately, what I think doesn't matter to your next entry at all. Each approval of foreigners' entry to Thailand is at the discretion of the exact officer at passport control at the entry point.

All I can say from reports in this group is, for you to prepare for any possible scenario as much as you can including bringing proofs of accommodation, funds, and onward travel as well as how you are a "genuine" traveller.

When and how you want to enter Thailand is your decision. Sorry.
