Can someone else apply for a tourist visa extension on my behalf in Thailand?

Anybody knows if it's possible for someone else to go to the immigration (Promenada), and get a tourist visa extension for me? (I don't mean an official agent, it would be my gf if that matters...)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus among commenters is that the visa extension must be done in person by the applicant, meaning someone else, even if they are a close acquaintance like a girlfriend, cannot apply on behalf of the individual needing the extension. There are discussions about the difficulties of reaching the immigration office, and some jokes about the challenges of being a tourist.

I think we have hashed out you must go in person to get an extension of stay. ;)

Thanks for asking the question. I was wondering this too, as Promenada is quite far out of town from where I’m staying and I need to do this later on this month (I’d forgotten about the photo-taking bit too). Would be interested to know how long it takes you when you do it for reference if that’s not too much trouble 😄

Most welcome! In my experience, I found it better to go around 3 pm. There's lot less people, and it shouldn't need more than 1h...

I really can't understand this creepy need for passive agressive comment... Why can't people just answer a simple question??

; Please excuse some people. Usually it is a friendly wind-up. Most people will have a joke and then offer you serious helpful advice.

No worries man! Question asked and answered, and like most people who actually need it, I probably won't be using this forum page anymore.

some people are cowards and hide behind just their ID and iPhone. Unfortunately most all group pages are the same. I almost always go to the source for information or call friends who have experience dealing with stuff. Unfortunately Tod is sort of indisposed for a while.

Yes agreed! But the immigration is hard to reach, and I would expect this kind of page to be exactly for that purpose. Anyways, someone reminded me that I will need a live snapshot, so my presence is required. So I got my answer, despite the usual trolls.

You should ask immigration if you want a straight answer. Your always going to get some kid of troll shit on a Facebook group.

No temple visits for one day, you must go yourself. Being a tourist is a hard life.
