TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can stay in Thailand for a total of 120 days by using a single-entry tourist visa. Initially, you can enter on a tourist visa for 60 days, extend it for an additional 30 days, and then perform a visa run, which allows you to re-enter Thailand for another 30 days. Ensure this is applicable based on your passport country and any specific entry requirements.

That should work.

That will depend on your passport country. If you buy a tourist visa then you can stay for 60 days. For most countries you can extend that once for 30 days. If your passport country allows a visa exempt entry then you can indeed do a “border bounce” and come in for another 30 days, and can get one extension off of that.

Fair enough Graham! Apart from February and April this year, when I stayed for 14 and 13 days respectively; this is my first visit to Thailand since 2008. I'm a bit rusty! 🤣

Still not in use yet I'm afraid. I went to Immigration in Pattaya this morning, over stayed by one day. Tried to get to Immigration yesterday, but returned from Bangkok too late. My fault so got fined 500 baht. Got my 'new' 30 days visa exempt today, valid until the 31st July. Not 60 days yet; here's hoping!

You got an Extension of Stay for 30 days not another Visa Exempt as that is only granted when you enter Thailand.
