Hello friends😁

Thank you for your advice last time🙏

I am called to immigration in Bangkok on May 12th. I am a tourist I am currently staying for about 5 months. I did a covid extension last time, but I was given only a one month extension instead of a two month extension. However, if I came back a month later, I was told that it would be extended for another month for free. I do not know why. The staff was told that if it was only a few days late, it would not be an overstay. However, I plan to go to the countryside from the 12th. So I want to go by the 11th of the previous day. Do you think this is possible? And do you think I need to have all the same documents as last time?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to visit the immigration office in Bangkok on May 12th for a visa extension after staying in Thailand for about 5 months. They received a one-month extension previously and need to know if visiting a day earlier on May 11th is advisable and if they should bring the same documents. Comments indicate that it is generally acceptable to go early, but users caution against trusting verbal assurances from staff regarding overstay rules.

if they say you can come after the date, and will not get overstay, don't trust them! I got 1 day overstay because of them and it give me a LOT of issue to be able to stay after that.

you would NOT get an overstay fine or stamp if you waited to go back to the immigration office a day or so after the date on an under consideration stamp.

NOW if you went to LEAVE the country after the date on the under consideration stamp you WOULD be on overstay and would pay the fine, although if you fly out usually an overstay of under 24 hours are not charged a fined you just get a thai langauge stamp next to your departure stamp.

The O/P is going to go back to the immigration office to get their loop closed on the U/C stamp not exiting the country

my situation was at the begining of the amnesty, so different situations, but for safety reason i advise to not trust immigrations officers, and to try to go before end of stamp.

where did you apply to get that stamp? Were you at the main office out at Chaengwattana OR at the Muang Thong Thani Immigration office?

I'm asking because the office at MTT is closed and you now go to IT Square Laksi Plaza

You did not get 1 month Extension but your application is under consideration and you have to come back at the same Immigation Office on the date mentioned in the stamp, 12 May 2022 and get the rest of the time as applied for.

You are free to go one day early and hope all is set and you get the remaining days, it could be that you will be asked to come back on mentioned date.

it’s like a doctors appointment. You don’t show up a day early 😋

there is NO documents you need to go back to the immigration office to close the loop on an under consideration stamp 😕 You just show up this Thursday (May 12) with your passport (and your blue/green receipt for 1900baht if you have it)

They'll ink the rest of the extension into your passport

you CANNOT go early. 🙁 so wanting to go out of town isn't gonna work. Show up on Thursday the 12th like it says at the immigration office in bangkok where you got the stamp

Does that mean I only have to bring my passport and receipt (paid 1900 ฿)? They said they would accept 2-3 days late, but not one day early? It's very complicated😅

@Masahito ************
It’s really not complicated. They are expecting you on the 12th along with everyone else for that under consideration date. If you go early your paperwork most likely won’t be ready as they will be prepared for people coming for those dates.

, complicated or not, it is what it is. You are supposed to go to the immigration office on the day you are directed. Under-consideration means your permission to stay is under consideration by higher officers, and it would be ready only the day specified, not before.
