thanks a lot for sharing! the thing is that I am not from Kiev, It takes me additional 12 hours by train to get from Kiev to my home town. All the flight connects, ferry/bus/train rides, etc make the trip quite long and exhausting... plus it's quite expensive...
Another problem is that according to the Ukrainian law, I can get a passport only in the region where I am registered. Due to the fact that Ukraine has recently got a visa free zone with Schengen countries and my region is very close to the border with Poland, quite a lot of people in my region are getting new bio passports. The lines for getting a passport are simply huge, some people wait up to 6 months for new bio passport...
It just doesn't make sense for me to go to Ukraine and then come back to Asia.
I guess I'll try my luck with getting new passport in Vietnam
If I loose passport, don’t they disqualify it all together with all the visas in it? Then even if I find it, it’s not going to be valid as it’s marked as lost already?
thank you! I think I’ll go to Vietnam... they provide 3 months visa and dont care about the number of pages in the passport as they provide loose leaf visa if there are no pages
I’ve got a 10 year USA visa in my current passport which I would like to keep. That’s the only reason why I cannot say I lost my passport. Thought about it... thank you!
Thanks everyone for your comments. I found out that Vietnam gives 3 months visa and also does loose leaf visa... so far it’s the only option besides going back to my home country... not that excited about 3 months in Vietnam though, would rather stay in Thailand if there was an option...
