I have never overstayed or done anything illegal, so the LTR application is irrelevant to my question... I just added that info for context in terms of waiting for the long-term solution to come through

at Vientiane they were giving tourist visas no problem, but I've heard it is more difficult to get this in Cambodia.. I think you should search the thai visa groups to see some recent reports
