It is very difficult, and I tried many times before I finally kicked it.

But the other guy,

, was right… you have to be ready and motivated. I was 39 years old and was having difficulty climbing a flight of stairs. But I smoked a lot.

It’s one of the hardest things you’ll do, but the reward is 1,000 times worth it. It’s the best possible thing you can do for your health.

You’ll get there… just recognize when you’re ready, and seize the opportunity 🙏

I think it was LBJ who, after quitting, was asked by a reporter if he thought he would ever smoke again.

His reply?

“I can’t say, but I know one thing… I’ll never quit again ”.

I can relate to that… it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and it took me many tries.

I made that promise too, and I usually adhere to it. But sometimes I can’t help myself. Here, I was trying to not sound preachy, but to appeal to their sense of practicality.

It sounded like they were all going through a major freaking hassle to feed the addiction while traveling internationally, so I just felt compelled to jump in to say, “Hey guys, wouldn’t this be a great time…”.

I knew I would come off as an arrogant A-hole. But what the hell… gotta take risks sometimes.

Geez !!!!

Sounds like so much trouble and stress. Why don’t you guys just quit?

I quit in 2000, and I’m in better shape now at 62 than I was back then. And I don’t have to deal with all that expense and bullshit.
