I made that promise too, and I usually adhere to it. But sometimes I can’t help myself. Here, I was trying to not sound preachy, but to appeal to their sense of practicality.

It sounded like they were all going through a major freaking hassle to feed the addiction while traveling internationally, so I just felt compelled to jump in to say, “Hey guys, wouldn’t this be a great time…”.

I knew I would come off as an arrogant A-hole. But what the hell… gotta take risks sometimes.
