the only caveat with that is I believe the 90 days clock starts from the day you apply for the extension of stay, not the day your initial stay expires.

From my understanding and the Thai Immigration website, your first extension of stay also acts as your 90 day notification. Therefore you only need to submit a 90 day report 90 days after you first apply for an extension of stay 😊

ok. Thanks for your help! I’ll be going to a small immigration office in Surat Thani soon to ask and will update you what the officer says.

The ask:thailand community, consisting of multiple Q/A groups with over 100,000 members, powers this platform. It is not an official government resource. Our members actively contribute to this resource, and while we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee its complete reliability. Assistance to travelers is provided as a community service.
