6 month is more than enough to learn the basic, if you have attended the classes and done your stuff then you won't have issues. If you can't speak thai at all then it's gonna be a big red flag, ED visa has been to most abused visa during the past years, used for those who wanted to live (and work illegally) in thailand. If you can't speak thai then they have the clue to think that you just wanna stay there long time moving from ed to muay thai isn't going to help.

@Dany *******
oh dude, you are so wrong. There are dozens of folks who have already claimed they got interviewed in Thai to figure out if someone has really attended the classes or not. Of course they won't expect you to speak fluently after a 6 months course but if you have been on the ED visa for for over a year and you can just say Teerak and sawasdee krab then they will surely realize that you got the ed visa just to live there long term. The embassies have gotten much more strict lately, while you could get DTV with a single appointment, now they go into details. If they figure out you tend to abuse the system, they'll deny you

it's allowed but that's gonna flag your application as you will have to explain why u got a thai bank account and make sure you got no business to do with thais

well, u said u got a ED visa, they probably gonna test your thai and figure out whether you can speak thai or not. ED visa has been very abused from those who wanted to live in thailand long term and they might suspect you're applying for the DTV for that reason. If you can speak thai fluently then you won't have any issues. If you used ED visa (how many years have u studied thai?) and you can't use thai for a regular conversation then they might deny you

mine only says Employment prohibited (soft powers) am I the only one?

following. If my application get rejected I'm also thinking of applying back in Europe but I'm not a resident there. I believe I could just get my residence there by going to the local municipality and set my residence back there but I also wonder if there's any other way that could save me from doing that

I know that taipei and the filippines could be ok with that but if you apply for soft powers then don't go to taipei. And bear in mind that you are still gambling, they might ask to see your account and/or request and interview and having a lot of money going there just few days prior the application could be a red flag

well, in that case depends on the embassy. if you had
*******
and you made it up to 500k recently then it's ok. If you went from
*****
k to 500k the other day then I suggest you to wait for a few weeks cuz it'd sound very suspecious
