Which means that I can do a border run every 180days for 5yrs? Is that correct?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. 500K + set appointment with a dentist (I do need to do some dental works such a couple of crowns). That would be enough to get a dtv for medical reasons. After I got that, I'll be able to stay in thailand 180 (+180 extensions) x 5years. Is that correct or I'm mistaking something?

Hitting the 40s and like you said, I just want to take quite awhile off to find energy and motivations back. I've quite burnt out mentally lately

I've spent half of my life in asia and actually I'm a permanent resident in taiwan. I've been to thailand quite a few months during the past 3yrs and I already got asked a few questions at the immigration the other year after 4 months spent there. I want to avoid any issues with the immigration and burocracy.

of course things might change but according to the actual law/rules, can someone stay legally in thailand for 5yrs just by doing a border run every 6 months with a dtv visa gotten for medical reason?

the point that isn't fully clear to me is, I know that I can get 180+180days. My question is, will I get that for 5 yrs and with that being allowed to live legally in thailand for all those years or it'll be over after that 180+180?

@Ga**
I am in my early 40s and I would never have a pension. I am tired of working and I need to get rid of some stress. I got some saving (small) which could allow me to live for few years without worrying too much and meanwhile figure out what I want to do in life . I currently live in asia but not in thailand. I don't feel that a DTV would burn my bridges, wouldn't it?
