I lost mine recently too and didn't notice until I was leaving at the airport. The immigration officer made me fill out a new one.

Yes it was based on marriage to a Thai national. When I was in Vientianne late last year they requested proof of finances for non-immigrant o single entry visa but accepted a bank statement. The consulate in Penang specifically requested a current Thai bank book as evidence to be submitted for multiple entry visas. I was able to procure the multiple entry visa non-immigrant o from the consulate in HCMC a few weeks ago without having to show proof of finances.

This was also my experience when I was there last year. They asked me for a Thai bank book with the funds for non-immigrant o multiple entry but not for 90 days single entry visa.

Yes, correct. The OP stated he did not have the 800k for such visa. Penang & Vientianne require 400k for marriage & 800k for retirement via an original Thai bank book before they will issue a 12 Multiple Entry Non-immigrant visa based on marriage these days but things could change. Savannkhet & HCMC do not currently have these requirements.

Vientienne doesn't offer Non-Immigrant O ME any longer. The only two consulates that do so in the region are Savannakhet and Ho Chi Minh city. I was able to procure a NO ME on marriage in Saigon a couple of weeks ago without any problems or having to show proof of funds.
