Regarding request for "guarantee" letter from US embassy. That I can't return to the US.

Chanthaburi immigration requests a letter from US embassy to say can't return, or should stay abroad.

I'm on 4th covid extension TR60. Arrived late May 2021. Less than a year.

Any advice, as I'm waiting at immigration now. They're waiting for a reply about my ability to get such a letter.

UPDATE: FYI

US embassy website had no information on letters that I could find.

After a little while in immigration, and a few quick questions about why I want to stay, they asked to see my outbound flight documents and hotel receipt.

Next they requested a TM30 from my hotel (my hotel previously said I was registered electronically, hmm), and they asked signed outbound flight docs.

Upon submission, I received a conditional stamp indicating I must return to that office ON April 1st. They explained, I would receive the extension at that time until May 17th ( my flight is 5th, May, so plenty of time). I was considering an ED visa, but doing it in the back of these two stamps is having me think it's better to leave and return on a fresh visa...

I will note, that my previous stamps were in Pattaya, and received:

1 consideration stamp <30 days.

1 extension for 30 days.

Again, I came in on a TR60..

Two of the immigration officers shook their heads when they first saw my

passport.

I can't imagine why.. I'm here for tourism, with appropriate extensions, and with in a year.

Hello everyone! I'd like to know what you would do if you were in my situation... I'm traveling with my wife and infant son...

We're currently in Chiang Mai, leaving for Phuket around March 1st. Our 30 day visa extension expires March 5th. We leave Thailand April 15th. Here are our options:

1- Ideally we'd go to immigration in Chiang Mai late February, get the 60 days and be all done. (I don't think this is a good idea because if we only get 15 days we'll be in Phuket when they expire and I believe you cannot use two different immigration offices for the Covid extension.)

2- Go to immigration in Chiang Mai in late February and if we only get 15 days can we then we'd have to get the other 45 days from the immigration office in Phuket. (Same issue as above, using two different immigration offices is not possible)

3- We could apply for the extension in Phuket in early March but we'll be staying in the south so we'd like to avoid the two 1 hour return car rides with a baby. (This is definitely the safest option but the one we're trying to avoid)

4- We could also apply for the extension in Chiang Mai next week, then return for the remaining 45 days before leaving for Phuket. (Although I've read that you can't get the extension that far away from the date your visa expires)

Any thoughts?

I have to overstay by 6 days to match my flight out. Is it any issue to pay the 500Thb per day fine and overstay without going for another covid visa extension? I would want to come back in the future so I don't want to risk that.

My wife and I have a ED visa and dis our last border run on February 4th. Up until now we've been able to extend our ED visa in country and have been given until February 3rd. We'd like to stay until March 1st ish before visiting home and resetting our visas. Can someone help explain the 60 day covid extension? What's required, when to apply etc. Thanks in advance!
