Who went for a covid extension since the new rules ?

I am on extension of visa exemption right now. What I get is that I can have it : but I have to give a good reason why I cant live because of Covid. What exactly should I say ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around obtaining a Covid visa extension in Thailand, particularly for those currently on a visa exemption. Users suggest various reasons for extending their stay, such as feeling unsafe returning to their home country due to Covid, financial intentions to spend in Thailand, and inability to return due to high Covid rates in their home countries. It's noted that those on a visa on arrival may face restrictions on extending with a Covid visa, but some immigration officers might have discretion.

According to the new rules, it says anyone on VOA (or extension of) cannot use the 60 day Covid visa to extend their stay. The IO MAY have discretion in certain circumstances, but there is not an obligation for them to consider it.

sorry if I used the words too loosely. Point being no pre-arrange visa but simply on free entry into the country. Like when I used to travel from Australia on vacation - I came in on VE for 30 days. If I wanted I could a 30 day extension. Same thing. No official TV therefore not eligible for the 60 day extension.

the terminology has always been kind of important but now even more so than before. So, visa exempt can get 30 day extension then MAY be able to get further extension due to be unable to travel due to COVID. VOA is not eligible (this affects some 19 countries). In you're on a non immigrant visa you are also not eligible

Paul Garnett. It's only VOA and non-immigrant visas which are not eligible for covid extension. Tourist visa, visa exempt and visa waiver entries are eligible as

correctly states. However, these are at the discretion of the immigration officer which can be worrying.
