Hello just checking that we can still apply for the covid visa? My work permit expires in august (non immigrant b employment visa valid till 15 september) but my office says they cannot renew wp for 1 month. I'm applying for an ed visa now. But I won't get it before 11th August. The option to not overstay then is to apply for the covid visa. Any help will be appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about applying for a COVID visa extension due to their work permit expiry in August. Responses clarified that while there is no specific COVID visa, one can apply for a 60-day extension of stay owing to COVID-19. However, this requires canceling the current work permit and existing extension based on employment before applying for the extension.
You would need to cancel your work permit and your current extension based on employment and then you could apply for a 60 day covid extension (there is no covid visa).
You can apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 no later then September 27. You MUST cancel your work permit, and one year extension of stay based on employment, and then you can apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19
