Covid Visa aftermath @ Suvarnabhumi today

USA - 2 years on Covid extension visas, arrived on visa exempt, and departed Bkk March 2022. No issue.

Then went to USA for 6mo and returned on TR-60 single entry visa and got a 30 extension, no issue

New years in the Philippines for 30 days and returned today on 45 day Visa exempt.

@ Immigration

Officer went through each page. Then asks how long I plan to stay and to show my return ticket. Showed my 43day return ticket and a minute later was carted off to the immigration office.

Basic questions

What are you doing here: Tourist

Have family in Thailand: No

Then was told I need a visa if I want to stay longer. 1-2 months was ok without a visa. (Nothing new to me)

Filled out a Passenger Identification form: name, address, flight info. Got finger scanned and photo graphed. Then he walks me back through immigration.

Was taken back a bit during the process but ended ok.

Thanx for the update. Those covid stamps (which people used until they couldn't get them any more) sure turned out to be the "stamps of death" comin in to the country for a LOT of people. Really strange you exited/re-entered on the tourist visa without incident until this visa exempt entry
