The processing time for the DTV (Workation) visa application from Spain is estimated to be around one week if all materials are accurate and meet the requirements. However, the actual experience may vary, as one commenter mentioned significant delays, requiring persistent follow-ups to get updates on their application status for 20 days, ultimately indicating that strong follow-up efforts are necessary to receive timely responses from the Thai embassy.
My boyfriend, who is Spanish, applied for the DTV (Workation) visa back in July. At first, he made a mistake with his middle name, which cost him money. Then he applied again—we double-checked the form to make sure all the information was correct and attached all the required documents. We resubmitted the application and paid the visa fee again.
The next day, we emailed them to confirm they had received his application and asked if they needed any additional documents. We kept following up every week, checking the application status online for 20 days. Eventually, we couldn’t wait any longer because he plans to travel on August 18.
We sent another follow-up email yesterday (and again today), but got no reply until today—when they finally responded asking for additional documents.
In summary: you really have to push them to get updates. We have tried calling many times, but they never pick up the phone.
I’m Thai, and honestly, I’m also very disappointed with the slow processing from the Thai embassy.

If the application materials are true and meet the requirements, it can be completed in a week.
I got mine in 5 working days last week. After I applied they wrote to me after 3 days asking for a letter in which I explained how I will be earning money while in Thailand and they asked for my Vida laboral and tickets out of Spain and into Thailand
