That's what I thought you meant. He'll have to bounce then. He expires May 31st and a 30 day extension won't help if I'm not getting my work permit until the first week of June. Thank you so much for the information.

Does he have to have 30 days left to do the transfer? For example, can he do it with 25 days left?

he can do the 30 day extension of the SETV earlier however they won't allow him to do the visa transfer earlier. They will only start processing a month before the visa expires

If I get the work permit sooner, can we go to the immigration early for my extension and his visa transfer? His visa expires May 31st and we can do the 30 day extension to get him to the end of June. If we have to wait longer, he'll have to do a border bounce. We can do this if we have to, but trying not to.

from May 17th you will have a 3 months Non-B entry stamp. During those months your school will process the WP (blue book). A month before it expires, by that time the blue book is also ready, you need to process the extension of your visa for the remainder of the 1 year. Simultaneously, your husband can convert his SETV at the immigration office a month before it expires. Your company just needs to provide almost the same set of documents when you extended your own visa. He will be GIVEN a 3 months NON-O VISA. He will then need to extend this later on similar to how you did your extension.

This is our first time going through the process. I'll have my Non-B May 17th. Then, my school will apply for my work permit. Can you tell me how the process works?
