Hi all really confused about what visa me and my family need to move to thailand, if anyone can help?

My daughter is 18 and looking to get a place at chiang mai university.

My son is 13 and will be going to school.

Im 40 and wife 37 so cant get a retirement visa, so what visa would be best for us to move out there.

My family and have been in Taiwan since covid hit and we've been looking to move to Thailand. First we were trying to get the special tourist visa (we meet all of the requirements) but since we're not Taiwanese residents, the Thai embassy here won't help us with that and the Thai embassy in the US says we would need to go there in person to get a stamp. Too much of a hassle so we're looking to get a tourist visa and then figure out a way to stay in Thailand. Does anyone have any advice for this? We have 2 kids that go to school so maybe we could switch to an education visa once we're there? Thanks for your help!

TM30 noob questions. Staying in Bangkok and have the TM30 slip which was obtained by Thai Elite at CW while finishing that process. Two scenarios:

1. If I stay a few days at a hotel in the city and then come back, do I need to obtain a new slip?

2. Same question if go to a different province for a while.

It's a potential mess since my landlady doesn't speak any English. I think she might be somewhat aware of the thing. But I'd just like an opinion or two before I try engaging.

I am looking at the Thailand Elite website and I don't see the 5-year visa they used to have. It looks as if they only have a 20-year. Did they discontinue the 5-year or am I just being a moron and can't find it?
