TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai Elite visa is designed for individuals under 50 who may not qualify for a retirement visa, cannot obtain a work permit, and are not married to a Thai national. There are options for a 5-year visa at 500,000 THB and a 20-year visa at 1,000,000 THB. However, some expats feel the perks offered are not worth the cost. After living in Thailand for three years on this visa, it may be possible to apply for permanent residency, but questions remain about ongoing reporting requirements.

If i am right after you live in Thailand for 3 years you can apply for PR correct? Is this for every kind if visa as well as Elite? Do you still have to report to immigration every 90 days or 1 year in this visa? Thanks!
sorry I don't know about PR, but from what I have read it's only a limited amount of people that are able to obtain pr here, on another note, yes PE holders need to do the 90 day report but Thai elite do this for you automatically so no need to visit immigration

Also the perks are not worth it, terrible actually, I don't play golf or goto spas, don't need the fast track as I usually get the premium lane coupon from my flights, the accommodation is always a lot cheaper on agoda, and the transfers are just AOT, my other half usually picks me up as we live about 20 min away from the airport

It's a visa targeted towards people who are under the age of 50(cannot get retirement visa), also those who can't obtain a work permit and also who are not married to a Thai national, the best value is either the 5 year at 500k or 20 years at 1 million, I'm on the 5 year as the 20 year only came out about 1-2 years ago, it's survived many governments, came out when Thaksin was in power and I personally have more faith in this then the forever changing other Thai visas
once the visa is issued its valid to the until date, you don't really need to leave, but it will cost 1900 thb per year if you don't leave the country, 90 day yes and no, elite does this for you, correct if your husband is no longer married to you if you pass away he will need to look at other options to stay in Thailand, so if he is on the PE elite visa you won't have any issues,

Well of your a Thai national you don't need the PE visa, and if your married to your husband he's probably better getting the marriage visa, the PE is multi entry so can leave and come as many times as you want, every time you arrive you get an extra year, so if timed well it's actually a 6 year visa for the easy access option
thanks so much! I am Thai actually and will be coming with my husband snd our kids. 500k for 5 years doesnt seem bad at all. Will you be able to stay long term or can only be short term at a time and leave? Thanks again!
