My host foundation has recommended, due to the coming two holidays, that I renew my visa 2 days late. Is this going to cause issues for me? (Holidays on the 28th and 1st. Visa is due the 2nd)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's host foundation suggested renewing their visa two days late due to upcoming holidays. Commenters advised against this, noting that while immigration offices will be closed on August 1st and 2nd, they will be open on the 31st. Falling behind the schedule may lead to complications such as receiving an overstay stamp, which can affect future travels and could potentially lead to legal issues. It is recommended to complete the visa renewal early to avoid complications.

Never a good idea to have an overstay stamp in your passport, can make entry into other countries difficult. I would be very worried about being asked by Police for your passport in those 2 overstay days, then it is off to a Thai jail, and a 5 year ban

Go early

First of all the 31st is a not government employee holiday and immigration will be open. Immigration will be closed August 1st and August 2nd.

I wouldn't do it because the immigration office is going to be a mad house after being closed for those 2 days so you're going to need to arrive very early to make sure you're processed.

You'll get a stamp in your passport that says overstay waived due to office closure.
