Will a one-day overstay affect my COVID extension application in Thailand?

Hello! My 60 days Covid extension expires today.

I was supposed to go yesterday after the weekend, but I was really sick at home (food poisoning) so I couldn't go.

And I just saw in a pinned post that today offices are closed because of holidays ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

I will go tomorrow morning to Phuket immigration office because I have no other choice. So will this 1 day of overstay affect to my COVID extension application? I guess I will have to pay 500 bahts extra. But will this be a big problem for my application?

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about a one-day overstay after their 60-day COVID extension expired, due to illness and holiday closures at the immigration office. A commenter reassures that the overstay may not be penalized since the office was closed for a holiday, but advises the user to apply for the extension early and be prepared for a potential fine.

Be sure to go to immigration office early tomorrow morning...

As they may be busy.

Apply for the COVID 60 day extension... As the office was closed for holiday today you may not be fined for overstay. But be prepared to pay if asked. It will not stop you from getting the COVID extension.
