Hello everyone, my visa runs out on exactly the 1st of January, when all the immigration offices are closed. Is it possible to go on the 2nd early morning to get my visa extension? Has anyone ever experienced something similar? Would appreciate your help

UPDATE: so I arrived on the 2nd and got a 30 days extension. No hassle and no questions, very efficient service considering the many people waiting in line

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of extending their visa on the day after it expired, given that the immigration office would be closed on the expiry date. Other community members confirmed that visiting the first day the office reopened would allow for a normal extension process without incurring penalties, as long as they arrived early.

If your admitted until stamp expires on a date that the immigration office is closed (holidays or weekends) AND you go the very FIRST day they re-open (in this case Jan 2nd) you can apply for an extension like normal AND you will not be charged for overstay, BUT you will get an overstay stamp in your passport that says "overstay xxx days fine waived due to holiday"

Your visa runs out as in the valid until date mentioned on the visa is 1st of Jan or do you have an Admitted to Stay until 1st of Jan on on what basis like which visa or visa exempt did you enter Thailand. And last but not least what is the country of origin of your passport?
