Hello I have a question regarding police clearance certificate.

I was dismissed from the school and when I ask about my visa status, they don’t give clear answer. I am planning to leave Thailand this week. And I need police clearance certificate for my another country visa.

I want to know if my visa is canceled and I have been overstay, is there any affect on my police clearance certificate. Do they recheck my visa status?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether their police clearance certificate will be impacted by their visa status, particularly their potential overstay due to being dismissed from their school. Comments indicate that the police check typically relates to criminal records rather than visa status. However, the user's concern about possible repercussions from immigration is raised, especially since the school is not providing necessary documentation for visa cancellation.

The police check is not linked to your visa or any overstay. It is a crimnal check you have no police record in Thailand your ok. Is that what you are asking,??

yes that’s what I want to know, thank you 😊

You said "was dismissed" so we can assume that was in the past, also, if you were dismissed, possibly you are not on the best terms with the school. Ergo, you ask them for a letter stating your last day of employment, that is likely to be in the past, therefore you could already be on overstay.

My school refused to give cancellation letter and I don’t understand why. They have to give me cancellation letter so that I can go to the immigration and cancel my visa, right?

Is there any problem if I leave Thailand without cancelling my visa? Will I know if I have overstayed or not when passing through airport immigration? If I overstay, then I can pay the fine and leave at the airport?

I don’t have any plan to get long-term visa in Thailand except for tourist purpose.

Immigration may not let you leave the country.

It is easy to know. Open your passport, look at the last stamp.

IF that is a small square stamp with Admitted Untill, you can stay until that date.

BUT if you visited Immigration Office and got a big stamp with the text Extension of Stay permitted up to xx/xx/xx, than the xx/xx/xx date must be the last day of working. If that day is in the past your are in overstay since that day until you make your way into the Immigration Office to cancel yours stay based on employment.

@Robert ******
I have stamp with the text stating extension of stay upto July 3 2025.

@Joanna ***
You have to cancel your work permit and this Extension of Stay using the last day of working.

@Joanna ***
BUT when was your last day of employment?
Lloyd ********
First question, do you have a VISA or an extension (90 days or 1 year)?

I want to know if I have been overstayed, is there any record on my police certificate? Like a kind of criminal record for overstay?

@Joanna ***
if your on overstay don’t go anywhere near the police you’ll get jailed and deported if caught outside the airport.

the visa extension stamp on my passport is still till July 3. As my school is refusing to give cancellation, I cannot go the immigration to cancel it. Will the police station check my visa with the immigration?

@Joanna ***
Your in a tough spot but if your stamp is until July 3 you should be able to get your check and then go from there

ok , that and your work permit need cancelling. A letter from work stating your last day of employment, take to Labour, then take the letter from them to immigration.
