Does anyone know if you have a DTV visa but then cancel after a few months to start a job in Thailand (let’s say 1 year)

Can you re apply for DTV?

However, the more salient issue before even crossing multiple hypothetical bridges are:

With a valid DTV which is Multiple Entry and valid for 5 Years, how demanding will the local Thai Immigration Office in Thailand be in converting your DTV to a Non-B Visa?

Will a Thai Immigration Office even convert a DTV Visa in-country to a Non-B Visa and question the initial underlying justifications submitted with the initial DTV Visa application?

However, the more likely scenario will be: How demanding will the Thai Embassy/Consulate be in cancelling a DTV Visa that is Multiple Entry and Valid for 5 Years and subsequently issuing a Thai E-Visa Non-B Visa?

In this other hypothetical, will a Thai Embassy/Consulate tell the Thai E-Visa applicant to go to the Thai Embassy/Consulate that originally issued the DTV Visa for them to cancel the DTV Visa first and subsequently lodge a Non-B Thai E-Visa application?

Also, will a Thai Embassy/Consulate even cancel a valid DTV Visa and question the initial underlying justifications submitted with the initial DTV Visa application?
