Will my insurance for three months be accepted for a one-month Thailand Pass if I visit Laos?

Hi everyone,

I've booked a flight to Bangkok for three months. I plan on buying insurance for three months but I am thinking of entering Thailand with a one month exception as I plan on visiting a friend in Laos during my stay. My question is will it be excepted by Thailand Pass? Or should I just apply for a visitor visa?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on entering Thailand for three months with a flight booked, while intending to ensure travel coverage for that duration. They are considering using a one-month Tourist Visa due to a planned visit to Laos. Responses clarify insurance requirements and the uncertainties around Thailand Pass approval, along with the necessity for an additional Thailand Pass if exiting the country.

Don’t forget if you leave Thailand you will need to do another Thailand Pass (TP) to return

Laos land border not open to individuals yet. Only private tour groups of 5 or more

I have heard rumors that you can get away with less insurance. Ultimately it depends how much risk you want to take. You can apply for Thaipass with anything, they'll choose to approve or deny. If they deny you can purchase more and retry.

Thaipass sometimes hours to complete, sometimes days. If you buy plane tickets and your flight is due to take off in 3 days time, do you really want to be messing around with Thaipass?

I don't remember them asking me for proof of insurance when I arrived. I think it's assumed when you have ThaiPass. If you get here and they ask for more coverage you can buy it in the airport (online with your computer). If takes days before the insurance is approved you can just live in the airport.

I get it.. I like a good discount too.

I'd check the entry to Laos 1st. Last I heard you had to have a C. O. E. May have or about to change

No problem having insurance cover for longer than your intended stay.
