TLDR : Answer Summary
Visitors entering Thailand on a Non-O visa may only need to show 2 months of insurance if they have a return ticket, as clarified by some community members. However, a different opinion suggests that insurance should cover the full duration of the stay in Thailand. Ultimately, you will be granted entry for the shorter period between your visa length and insurance coverage.

You'll be stamped in for the length of your visa or the length of insurance, whichever is shorter.

You must be insured for your full period of stay in Thailand

Should be just the 2 months if you show them the ticket

they don't stamp you in according to flight tickets, you are stamped in according to the length of insurance or the visa type, whichever is shorter.

immigration only care about your visa, its for the length of insurance for approval of entering country.

I just had all this with my sandbox entry.

I had five weeks left on non o visa but Singapore embassy insisted i needed 1 years insurance, so had to get a return ticket to get issued COE. But makes no difference with immigration

embassies and immigration are on different realities. Singapore overstepped in your case.
