Hi there everyone. I want to ask for some insight in regards to the covid insurance coverage when applying on the Thai Pass.

What is the minimum amount of time that the insurance should cover you for after purchasing it?

Thank you for your answers in advance:)

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the Thai Pass, the insurance policy needs to cover the entire duration of your stay in Thailand plus at least 10 extra days in case a COVID-19 test returns positive. While the minimum coverage generally aligns with your visa duration, if entering visa exempt, coverage for at least one month is sufficient. For longer-term visas, such as a retirement visa, travelers may enter with shorter insurance coverage but still receive a stamp valid for longer.

I have a 1 year retirement visa that's good until December. I returned to Thailand yesterday with 30 days of covid insurance. They stamped me in until December.

Depends on your visa, min would be 1 month.

You'll only be stamped in for the lenght of time your policy covers regardless of your visa status. If you enter visa exempt you'll only need 1 month cover.

I was stamped in for 90 days with only 14 days of coverage

The insurance policy should also cover the whole duration that travellers are planning to stay in Thailand, plus at least 10 extra days as a precautionary measure in the event that the traveller’s second swab test result returns as positive.
