TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights various options for 30-day travel insurance that can help in obtaining a Thai Pass, with recommendations including Luma, MSIG, and AXA, as well as alternative inexpensive options such as MedEx and Revolut. Prices mentioned range from 600 baht for 30 days to 2100 baht for more established companies. Comments also confirm that standard travel insurance is sufficient for the Thailand Pass, though coverage for asymptomatic detention was questioned. Users note recent changes in insurance requirements, specifically a reduced COVID coverage minimum of $20,000 starting March 1, and indicate that coverage can come from international companies as long as it includes coverage for Thailand.

there is no fixed price for all, depends on your duration of stay and which country you are traveling from.

When I was shopping for insurance on AXA, I found the only thing that effected price was the duration of change. I checked prices for origin country US and Mexico, same price. Age 30 - 70, same price. They don't seem to offer insurance for people over 80. They dont care if you vaccinated or not. Which or how much vaccine not important.

I am pretty sure its a scam. You'll get the paperwork you need. You may even get actual coverage if you need it, but most likely somebody somewhere is getting a kickback.

AXA and Luma/Tune are popular. They have asymptomatic coverage, but their policies include the language “medically necessary treatment “ which pretty much means they can do what they want. 😅 So if you show no symptoms but are forced into the hospital, I’d say it’s a roll of the dice. You may be on the hook for the bill.

That is not true. Look carefully at the new wording of both of their policies - things have changed.

Thanks Sophie. They left out the medically necessary part? I got the policy a few days ago, I’ll go back and check it out.

Your normal travel insurance is good enough to get a Thailand Pass (TP)
