Can I use my existing travel insurance for the Thailand Pass after a delay due to COVID-19?

Got stuck in Cambodia during my "visa run" because my boyfriend's PCR test came back positive after we arrived. We are waiting it our until April 1st to fly back. Going to reapply for the Thai pass but are just confused about our insurance coverage dates. Technically our insurance will cover us until our next fly out date which will be 21 days after arriving back in Thailand.

I am hoping when reapplying for the Thai pass we can use the same insurance policy and be fine and also coming back in will not meet any problems because of this.

Why would you wanna go back to Thailand?!... 😝 Cambodia isn’t the best country in the world but it trumps Thailand’s immigration any day. Depending on where you are... (Siem Reap, Battambong 😊 Phnom Penh 🤮) anyway, Immigration and extensions are a breeze there. You never even have to leave the country, can hire a service to do your visa runs and, the pay there is much much better than Thailand. You can work in a variety of jobs outside of the teaching chitterlings circuit and Luxury apartments there in the Olympic area of PP are tasteful and affordable as 🤬 — I know, I was Fortune 500 CEO 👨🏾‍💼 when I was there— 🤷🏾‍♂️ #ThinkAboutIt

I just read through the OP twice and can't find the bit where she asked for your opinion of Thailand

always amuses me how people living in thailand, and some with thai family/friends, think it's not a good place to live or they even slag it off. Shame isn't it.

I don't recall a lot of peoples posts asking for personal opinions but that never stopped anyone from doing it anyways ya damned Nazi!!! At least I gave them something to consider in case they end up getting stuck.

That's up to your thinking bud but unless you're offering me a job, I think you better go ask John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt about me

Generally you need 30 days of insurance to enter Thailand unless you show a flight leaving in a shorter amount of time

When you apply for the Thailand Pass the start date of your insurance policy will be before your arrival date, this will likely be flagged when you apply. If you have a single trip travel policy (which most are) your policy has effectively expired. My advice would be to buy a new one from AXA.

this should be ok, as long as the whole stay in thailand is covered 🙂

when are you arriving? For thailand pass, your departure date should be 21 April. For the visa exemption (if you are eligible), they will give 30 days.

Read the small print on your policy. I'm sure I saw someone fuming because it expired they day they left.
