Hello Everyone,

My husband has a Non-B visa, which was due for yearly extension during Songkran holidays. Due to holidays, company delayed in preparing the documents and he got a Covid extension visa stamped for a month till 12 th May, saying visa under consideration. Now his company documents are ready, so will he get his yearly Non-B visa stamped this time?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster's husband is currently on a Covid extension for his Non-B visa, which is under consideration until May 12. He needs to resolve this extension first before applying for his yearly Non-B extension. Once the Covid extension is finalized, he can apply for his yearly extension based on employment documents. However, during the application for the yearly extension, he might receive another under consideration stamp and may need a re-entry permit if he plans to travel.

, okay to close the loop on the covid extension they show up the date it says on the stamp in passport, not before not after.

Then as soon as they do that, they will apply for the employment extension. They will most likely give a 30 day under consideration stamp for that employment extension AND if your husband needs to travel during that 30 days they would BUY a re-entry permit.

I do not think they can get a re-entry permit on the covid extension so once they close the loop on the 12th the HAVE to apply for the employment extension FIRST, get the under consideration stamp for that extension and then get the re-entry permit if they are going to leave/come back during that stamp's validity

He has to FIRST go on the 12th to "close the loop" on the covid extension that is still under consideration.

After he does that he can apply for the yearly extension based on employment with the documents from his employer.

You can't apply for a new extension while you have an under consideration stamp.

Hello, I have one more question, if it happens so - that he gets Visa under consideration stamp for another one more will he be able to travel out of country, with an re-entry ?

Why doesn't he just go to apply for his RIGHT visa/extension the next day once he gets the under-consideration stamp closed? There is no regulation he needs to wait for specific days before he can apply for the next one since his stamp would be already 30days or less.

We have never heard any report from the start that someone could get a re-entry permit on the Covid extension stamp.

he's supposedly unable to travel due to covid hence being on said extension so no he won't be able to get a re-entry permit for it. Nothing to stop him from trying though.

There's nothing stopping him from leaving the country but he'll need to go through all the hoops to get back into Thailand, including obtaining a visa should he need one to re-enter.

Ok, he is going tomorrow with the documents from his employer. So can he present those and close the covid extension?

He might be turned away to close the under-consideration stamp if goes tomorrow. He needs to go to the immigration office ON 12th May to close that stamp as the first step.

FIRST he will just close the covid extension by showing up on the date it says to go back, then right after that he will apply for the new extension
