TLDR : Answer Summary
An individual on a non-immigrant-B visa nearing expiry can apply for a COVID extension visa. The process requires specific documents such as copies of passport pages, proofs of current visa and immigration stamps, and potentially a TM30 form. If the non-B visa is an annual employment extension, the individual must first cancel their work permit and the existing extension before applying for the 60-day COVID extension. It's important to note that the deadline for applying for this extension is November 26.

What is a "Non-B visa"?

If this is an actual 90 day visa sticker that is placed in your passport, you will submit the following at the local immigration:

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. [May not be requested at Bangkok Immigration] A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and want to use their special forms). FOR BANGKOK IMMIGRATION, these forms are in the file section of the group

4. [NOT REQUESTED FOR BANGKOK] A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy website saying they don’t issue the letters, OR a print out of a letter from the embassy saying they don't issue those letters.

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

* * *

IF the "Non-B visa" is actually a ONE YEAR EXTENSION OF STAY based on employment, you will do the following:

1. You will cancel your work permit at the labor office. The labor office will give you a slip of paper saying your work permit has been cancelled.

2. You will go to the immigration office, with the slip of paper, and cancel your existing extension of stay based on employment.

3. You will then, AT THE SAME DAY, request a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 using the steps above.

The last day you can apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 is November 26.

You MAY BE able to get your one year extension of stay based on employment cancelled in advanced.
