Hello,

I have actually a NON-B visa which will expired on 9th march 2021. My company asked me to do a “visa extension due to COVID” which mean that I will be extend for 60 days. My question is when my company come back to normal situation, I will be able to change from Covid extension to a NON-B visa again or I need to quit Thailand?

Moreover, the ambassade said that they don’t provide any letter to extend my visa due to COVID, can I be able to do this extension anyway? Thank you in advance 🙏🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a NON-B visa expiring on March 9, 2021, and inquired about converting a COVID extension into a NON-B visa after the situation normalizes, as well as the need for an embassy letter for this process. Responses clarify that to apply for a 60-day COVID extension, one must first cancel their current extension and work permit, thus only having this option to remain in Thailand longer.

Okay, turns out the person WAS on a yearly extension of stay NOT a Non-B visa stamp and that means IF they wanna get a 60 day covid extension, they cancel their work permit, get documents from their company and cancel their extension and then apply for a 60 day covid extension.

That's all they can do to stay longer.

LOOK in your passport and see if the stamp you have now says "extension of stay permitted until" and then has the date of March 9th on it.

IF it does you can't get a 60 day covid extension without cancelling that extension FIRST.

thank you for your reply.

yes it does.

It mean that they need to cancel the extension of my actuel visa before getting a covid extension? So it wont maintain my business statut ?

if your consulate doesn't issue the letter you don't need it to get a covid extension.

you need to cancel both your work permit and your current extension of stay (if that's what you have in your passport) OR you cannot get a 60 day covid extension. It will mean you are no longer employed AND whether you can go back on an extension based on employment down the road or not is between you, your employer and the immigration office you deal with.

I'm telling you how to get a 60 day covid extension
