Hello! Thank you for accepting the request!

My boyfriend just went this morning for covid extension, there was a stamp saying “under consideration”

Is it certain that he will get this visa extension? So we can book our flight & plan our trip to islands 🙏🏽

Thank you!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about the certainty of their boyfriend receiving a COVID visa extension after he received an 'under consideration' stamp. Community responses indicate that there have been no known rejections for this extension, and it is important to return to the respective immigration office on the date stamped to finalize the process. Additionally, users share experiences from Pattaya, emphasizing the need to follow local procedures closely before making travel plans.

In Pattaya..one returns on the Under Consideration date stated...gives Immigration the passport..gets a receipt...

Then return next day to pick it up with new stamp in it.

So be careful re booking your trip...ask your immigration office what their process is.

As Benjamin said there have been no reports of anyone not getting the stamp after getting the under consideration stamp. However you need to return to that immigration office on the date stamped to get the remaining days. You can’t go to another office to close that stamp.

we got TR visa extended when we were in Bangkok, now living in Phuket. We flew back to Bangkok & will have to stay for 8 days to get the covid extension and fly back 😅

once back in Phuket file a TM30 and you can then start to use the Phuket immigration office (once you’ve closed this extension stamp in Bangkok of course). Whether there will be an opportunity to get a further extension is anyone’s guess. Many think the March 30th date will be extended because land borders are still closed but it’s speculation at this point and typically they don’t announce changes until a day or so before the deadline.

you must use the office where he has registered his Thai address with a TM30

there is an immigration office in Phuket - two in fact but the main one in Phuket town does the Covid extension. Currently the last date for applying is March 30th. This date may be extended but no one knows if it will be as yet.

thank you, it’s concerning since they will take a week for this visa, is it usually this long? The stamp under consideration is 31st of March

It's usually this long, or longer. I wouldn't worry about it.
