Hi page, first post and question re DTV. Married thai spouse and established home at Loeng NokTha travelling back to Oz for seasonal farm work on a 6/3wk or 8/4wk cycle depending on task.

I understand 90% of the DTV requirements and have found this Chris Parker video interview with Thai Immigration very informative, but, there is one vague (to me anyway) area re 180 days and multiple entry ?

What I do understand is - If I enter thai to return "home" the 180 day period starts from date of entry and prior to that period ending I can travel to local office at Yasothon and apply to extend another 180 days which is a simple process having previously extended 60 days etc at same office.

Q1 - If I exit and travel Thai to Oz within that 180 days does the visa period expire and is cancelled on exit ?

Q2 - Or, is their provision to maintain the 180 days with multiple (likely to be 3 times) return travel to Oz in that period ?

Anyway, this screenshot shows the link to the useful video that may assist others as well (note its a screenshot and the links are not active)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) for Thailand allows for multiple entries within a 5-year period, granting a 180-day stamp upon each entry. If you leave Thailand within the 180 days and wish to return, you will receive a new 180-day stamp upon re-entry. Additionally, you may apply for a 180-day extension on one of your entries, potentially allowing for a max stay of 360 days before needing to exit and re-enter to reset the stay period.

It's a multiple entry visa, valid for 5 years.

That means EVERY TIME you enter Thailand during those 5 years, until the end date on the visa, you will be stamped in for 180 days.

If you enter on October 1st, you'll receive 180 day stamp.

If you leave on October 2nd and return on October 3rd, you'll receive 180 day stamp.

That's how a multiple entry visa works, you receive the full stamp every time you enter Thailand.

One time on EACH ENTRY, you can apply for 180 day extension. So at most you can stay in Thailand for 360 days. You would then need to leave and return (can all be done in a single day) and then start the process over again for a new 360 days, if you'd like.

I think most people will be traveling so they'll never need to apply for the extension and will leave Thailand at least once every 6 months.
