Hi All.... I would like to go to Thailand regularly for 7 months. I.e. for approximately 210 days. Can I use DTV Visa for this?

Example: I will get a DTV Visa and fly to Thailand on October 1, 2024. In March 2025, I will cross the land border and enter Thailand again and stay in Thailand for another 1 month, after which I will fly home? Next, I will return to Thailand again on October 1, 2025, and I can do it this way for 5 years, during which time will my DTV Visa be valid?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV Visa is designed to allow stays in Thailand for extended periods, including re-entry options for multiple stays over a long duration. In this case, you can enter Thailand for 210 days with a DTV Visa, then cross the border and re-enter to continue your stay as planned.

Yes, that's basically what the visa is designed for.

For these Visas, however, it is written that the maximum stay is 180 days per year. If I cross the border, can I come back the next day and will my VISA be valid again? Will it not be a problem if the total stay in 365 days is 210 days?

it says per visit, not per year.

you could always pay the 10,000 Baht extension, covers you for the year then.

bullshit!! It's a multry entry Visa. You can leave and come back daily to Thailand

Extension is 1900 baht, but a border bounce is easier

I agree, but he seemed to be concerned that he couldn't do that , so in the worse case pat the extension fee.. and I think for the DTV it's another 10k for another 180 day!?

@Steven ********
No, the cost of the five year visa is 10,000 baht. All extensions are 1,900 baht

this is where I am getting my figures from, but I'll back out this conversation as it's not my speciality and I don't know it all well enough.

This doesn't look like an official Thai Government notice

agree extensions have traditionally been 1900 regardless of length, but in all the official announcements describing the DTV prior to those issued to the consulates, etc (with no price shown), they stated it was expendable for another 180 days for another 10k. But your right people will bounce twice if they want 365 days a year.

That's why I asked that if I need to extend my stay by just one month, do I just need to cross the border or do I have to go to immigration and pay 10,000 baht again.

@Tomaš ******
you only extend if you want to. Otherwise every single entry into Thailand during the 5 years will give you 180 day stamp. The extension is optional.

I understand that. But they are more entry visas. After a 2-month stay in Thailand with DTV, I will go to Cambodia for 3 days, for example. When I return, will they give me 180 days again at the border crossing?
