May I know, is there someone living in Thailand with DTV and left the country before 6 months? Do we need to do the re-entry process before leave?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion focuses on the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) and its stipulations regarding re-entry and duration of stay. Key points include that it is a 5-year multiple entry visa allowing stays of up to 180 days per entry, and users do not need a re-entry permit to leave and re-enter. However, they must adhere to the 90-day reporting requirement for extended stays.

It's a 5 year multi entry visa. You can come and go as you like. What is the question? Maybe I'm not understanding...

Oddly enough the muay thai school im talking said i will need re-entry for DTV. Was about to ask this question too.

I'd X that school, possibly they are trying to dupe you into an ED visa.

But don’t forget to do the 90 days report when you stay more than 90 days in Thailand with Dtv

this not confirmed yet?

@Paulie *******
no need to wait for confirmation, it’s for anyone who stay more than 90 days
Romain ****
No need for re entry permit as you get a multiple entry visa.

You have to bend over a few times before leaving that's all.

No, I have entered 4 times. Each time I received a new six month stamp. My first stamp had an end date in January but my current one goes to April.

I have been in-and-out several times on my DTV with no real issues. Only problem I’ve had is IOs who aren’t yet familiar with handling DTVs and have to ask someone for help.

Sorry, how much did you pay fee for DTV? They say 10,000 THB/180 days?
John *******
@Chutithorn *********
you pay for 10,000ish for the 5 years and you pay if you extend 180 days at an immigration office, but costs nothing every time you enter the country and get a new 180 day stamp

Thank you for your information

@John ******
did you have to pay a fee?
John *******
@Joel *******
no, it is a multi entry visa. Only pay for an extension of stay

@John ******
really, I had the perception that you have to leave after 180 days and stay away 180 to be able to get a new 180 day block. But that is good if it works that way.

- Nope. There is lots of information now available (interview with MFA, DTV website) as well as countless people on here who have the visas.

I do have the DTV but no one or youtube videos have been able to explain what I was asking for. So I had the idea when you enter first time you start a 180 days block and you can go in and out within the 180 days but then have to leave Thailand for 180 days to get a new 180 day block. But if it works the way you say then it is great, thanks.

Why ?? Given its a multiple entry visa there seems little logical reason to try to retain a permission of stay, when a new entry will give a fresh 180..

Re-entry permits are used to maintain a current permission of stay through to its end date, but when holding a ME visa you will always get more (the max 180) than by using a re-entry and having 180 minus however much you used.

It's a 5 year multiple entry visa, you can enter and exit and re-enter whenever you like up to 180 days on any entry. Each time you enter you are stamped in for 180 days, you can stay 180 days or leave in 2 hours, up to you. You can do this 1000 times in the next 5 years.
