How long is the DTV visa valid and when can I activate it?

How “long” is the DTV valid for? I will move down in June 2025, but I am ready and have everything needed to apply for the DTV today. Is it possible to apply in September, take a 1 week vacation in Oct/Nov and activate the visa, go back home and finish up  in my home country until June of next year and move down on the DTV visa? So to clarify, once I have the DTV stamped in my passport, am I free to enter and leave as I wish for the coming 5 years after I got the first stamp? Is this a valid plan if I want to get the DTV visa process started asap and don’t mind wasting half a year of its validity, just so secure it as soon as possible before (if) they change requirements or the visa itself?

Once it is granted, it is valid for 5 years. You can receive the visa now and wait 4 years before using it for the first time if you want. It is "activated" as soon as the visa is granted.

ok, Thanks! But is it still the typical arrive in Thailand within 3 months of application, like the normal tourist visa? Just a side question to clarify
