I'm going to apply for a SETV in hcmc this week. I have all required documents, flight in, financial proof, and flight out. But my flight out is 89 days after my arrival flight. I figured this would be okay because I have a letter from the place I will be staying at for 90 days, stating I will be staying for 90 days.. I know the SETV is for 60, but with the letter and flight out proof, I figured it would be pretty safe to not get a bus ticket leaving the country on day 60. I figured that my request for an extension for my last 30 days would be relatively easy. What do you think?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a 60-day Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and is concerned about their flight out being 89 days after arrival, despite having a letter confirming a 90-day stay. Comments indicate that while it's technically possible for authorities to request proof of exit before the 60-day expiration, there is some belief that they may not enforce this strictly. Additionally, it's recommended to have sufficient cash on hand when entering Thailand.

okay IF you are asking the question about whether the thai consulate in HCMC will accept proof of onward travel dated 89 days out from your application the answer is YES, no problem.
Oh I see, I'm sorry I didn't catch that the first time you said that! Also do you have any recommendations on a cheap way out of Thailand? Bus probably? Is there a good website to purchase a bus ticket ticket?
where can I get baht? Can I get it in Vietnam or Cambodia as I will be traveling through there prior to my flight into Thailand? As I thought just a bank statement was needed, I didn't order baht at the bank I use in the United states
