I'm on a yearly marriage visa extension which will expire on Feb 6. I understand that you can apply for an extension 45 days or less in advance at a local immigration office.

If I were to say, apply for an extension on Jan 29th, would I lose those 8 days? Couldn't find any info on this. Sorry if it's already been asked many times.

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for a yearly marriage visa extension within 45 days of its expiration without losing any time. Your new extension will take effect from the expiration date of your current visa.

this is a question that comes up a lot (y)

You don't lose any time apply for a yearly extension early (as long as it's for the same reason, retirement/retirement, marriage/marriage, etc)

The new year extension is added to the expiration date of your current extension.
