Hi Guys

Lat year I changed from retirement extension to spouse extension at Phuket Immigration...

I changed one month before I needed to..

My new spouse extension then started from that day meaning I lost one month of the retirement extension

If I go and get my new spouse extension early? say on 1st. March ( extension ends 22 March )

Will the extension start on 1st.March or 22 March??

Cheers and thank you so much for any info

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the start date of a spouse extension if applied for early, referencing a past experience of switching from a retirement extension. Commenters clarify that the previous change to the spouse extension started on the application date rather than the expiration date of the retirement extension. However, for subsequent yearly extensions based on marriage, applying early allows the new extension to be added to the current expiration date without losing time.

Now that you're on an extension based on marriage IF you apply for another yearly extension for the same reason (marriage to a thai) it will be ADDED to your current expiration date. <- meaning you won't lose any time applying early.

In Phuket I believe you can apply up to 45 days before your current extension expires.

that happened because you changed the REASON for your extension and that meant it wasn't added to the expiration date of the old one but started the date you applied for it
