If I tried to do a border run w/ Thai friend I’d still have to do quarantine, yes? Would plan to do this around March 2022.

right I just got some mixed info from Thai friend. He implied Malaysian border was open rn

no border is open right now. But there is one set to open soon with Laos for entry into Thailand but you can't enter Laos from Thailand yet so not very useful. Things will change a lot in the next few months so there may be options.

There are no borders open. You’d have to fly out and then get the ThailandPass to get back in. Whether you’d need to quarantine is dependant on your vaccination status and the country you’re coming in from.

Nong Khai to Vientiane opens Dec 24, other details not clear yet.

there was a post today about a Malaysian border opening, but seemingly you could potentially enter Malaysia but you then couldn’t leave. I can’t find the post now so don’t really know the details. Cambodia is open for flying in to without quarantine if you’re vaccinated, but I’m not sure if there’s any flights available.
